Pierrette was photographed in Delhi, just a stone’s throw from our factory. It was our very first overseas shoot, and we arrived without giving our model any creative direction at all. Yet the moment she stepped in front of the camera, she began moving like a doll or a puppet on a string... something we had never seen in any of her previous work. It felt entirely instinctive and perfectly captured Pierrette’s inspiration: the theatrical world of French pantomime.
