We work exclusively with natural fibres: linen, cotton, wool and silk. Many of our fabrics are organically grown, and synthetic fabrics have never been and will never be part of our collections.

We choose natural fibres because they breathe, feel beautiful against the skin and are made from materials found in nature. They are healthier for the wearer, gentler on the earth and, at the end of a garment’s life, offer far more possibilities for reuse and responsible disposal than synthetic fabrics.

Our buttons are made from shell, chosen to complement the natural materials used throughout our garments.

We want our clothing to remain useful for as long as possible.

We provide garment-care advice to help customers look after their pieces, and our community Facebook group gives women a place to resell clothing, exchange styling ideas and share advice about repairs and alterations.

When a garment can no longer be worn, its fabric can still have value. It may become patches, be used in craft projects, be repurposed into something new or composted, either commercially or at home.

A garment’s life should not end simply because its first purpose has.

For us, sustainability begins with making clothing people genuinely want to keep.

We do not design around fleeting trends or the expectation that women should continually replace what they own. Our garments are created for a mature audience who understand their own style and want clothing they can wear repeatedly, combine in new ways and make their own.

Many of our designs remain in production for several years. Each collection is made to work with the pieces that came before it, allowing customers to layer, restyle and reinvent their wardrobes rather than start again every season.

We release limited collections in small production runs, creating thoughtfully rather than producing endless quantities of clothing.

We are proud of the practices we have established, but we're not sure if you can ever reach the finish line.

For us we would like to increase the amount of organically grown fabric we use, with the long-term goal of choosing only organically grown fibres.

Shipping is another area in which we know there is always more work to be done. As an Australian business working with international makers and customers, transport is a necessary part of what we do. We continue investigating better freight options, consolidating shipments where possible and looking for practical ways to reduce the environmental impact of moving our clothing around the world.

We will keep asking questions, visiting our manufacturers, reviewing our materials and packaging, and changing our practices whenever better options become available.
