Sumi is a limited capsule collection comprising a dress and top, made in Australia by Michelle and Gemma in our studio.

Each piece is constructed using offcuts of linen, cotton and silk from our previous collections. The remnants are individually arranged and sewn together to form softly irregular patchworked panels, which are then framed in high-quality silk taffeta. The contrast between sheer and opaque fabrics creates subtle shifts in texture, transparency and light.

Because each garment is shaped by the fabrics available, the placement and combination of materials will vary. No two pieces are exactly alike.

Released in black and white, Sumi is a small, high-end edit created ahead of our summer collection. It celebrates skilled local making, beautiful natural fabrics and the potential still held within the materials left behind.
