OUR MAKERS

We work with manufacturers across India, Korea, Portugal and China.

These are not anonymous production lines. They are long-standing relationships built over years of collaboration.

We visit our factories every year.

Not as a symbolic gesture but to build genuine working partnerships, to design and develop garments on the ground, and to directly inspect and understand the environments in which our clothing is made.

During these visits we:

  • See, participate and understand working conditions in person
  • Meet with management and production teams
  • Inspect cutting rooms, sewing floors and finishing processes
  • Discuss wage structures and compliance with local labour laws
  • Refine patterns, sampling and construction techniques alongside makers

This level of involvement is uncommon in independent fashion. Many brands rely solely on agents or remote communication. We choose to be physically present.

Our expectations are clear and consistent:

  • Fair wages
  • Safe and respectful working environments
  • Compliance with local labour laws
  • Transparent communication at every stage of production

We do not move factories for marginal cost savings. Continuity is more important than short-term financial gain.

Long-term partnerships improve:

  • Quality control
  • Accountability
  • Consistency of construction
  • Working conditions
  • Mutual trust

When you return to the same production teams year after year, you build familiarity, skill and shared standards. That stability benefits everyone from the makers to the women wearing the garments.

We believe ethical production is not achieved through statements. It is achieved through presence, relationship and ongoing oversight.

OUR FABRICS

Natural fibres are not a trend for us. They are a principle.

Energetically, natural fibres behave differently on the body. Linen, cotton, wool and silk breathe. They regulate temperature. They allow airflow. They absorb and release moisture. They soften with wear rather than break down.

Synthetic fibres are petroleum-based. They trap heat, hold odour, and create a barrier between the skin and the environment. They are engineered for convenience, not for the body.

When you wear natural fibres, the garment moves and responds with you.

From a sustainability perspective, the difference is even clearer.

Natural fibres:

  • Biodegrade at end of life
  • Do not shed microplastics into waterways
  • Require less long-term environmental remediation
  • Age in a way that extends their usability

Synthetic fibres:

  • Are derived from fossil fuels
  • Shed microplastics during washing
  • Persist in landfill for decades or centuries
  • Are often blended in ways that make recycling impossible

Many brands blend natural fibres with synthetics to reduce cost, prevent wrinkling, or increase margin. Blending lowers production costs and simplifies manufacturing.

We do not compromise.

We accept the higher cost of 100% natural fibres because:

  • The garment performs better over time
  • The fibre can return to the earth
  • The wearer experiences greater comfort
  • The long-term environmental impact is reduced

The cost of natural fibres is an investment. In the longevity of the garment, in the health of the body wearing it, and in the health of the ecosystems that must absorb what we produce.

We believe that what sits against the skin matters And we believe that what we release back into the environment matters even more.
